{REVIEW} Bench Placid B Holdall Bag

Bench Holdall Review

This month, I’m reviewing one of my favourite Bench accessories: the Placid B Holdall bag!

As a mom and yoga + fitness instructor, I tend to carry a “mini house” with me wherever I go, and if I had to be honest, it has nothing to do with having kids – I’ve been teased for having a Mary Poppins bag ever since I was in high school. So, trust me, I know what I’m talking about when it comes to hot bags that can hold everything.

When I first saw the Placid B Holdall, I couldn’t decide what kind of bag it was, exactly. Carry-on? Luggage? Gym bag? Office bag? Baby bag? After exploring all of it’s pockets and sleeves (all of which are spacious and secure), I decided that it was, in fact, all of these things.

At the time, I was in need of a “work bag” to store all of my Reiki equipment and tools for my workshops, and the Placid B Holdall fit the bill. I meant for it to be a temporary “Reiki bag” (because I really wanted to use it as a gym bag – did you notice the cool slot for carrying your yoga mat?!), but it worked so well that I’m keeping it as my Reiki workshop bag. Plus, I think I look pretty darn slick wearing it 😉

To give you a good idea of what this bag is capable of, here’s a typical list of what I take with me to my workshops:

  • Folder (packed with certificates and other papers, of course)
  • Books
  • Manuals (at least 5 copies)
  • Notebook
  • Paper
  • Miscellaneous stationery
  • Mini speakers
  • Crystals
  • Candles
  • Incense
  • Lighter
  • Food
  • Water
  • My ginormous wallet
  • iPhone and iPod
  • Diffuser
  • Essential Oils
  • Shawl or cardigan
  • Socks
  • Postcards and marketing materials

Etcetera. Everything fits beautifully – the books stack nicely on the wide and flat bottom, and the “delicates” (crystals, candles, lighter, incense, etc.) are safe in the laptop slot. There’s also a netted zip pocket for my socks and change of clothes.

Bench Placid B Holdall

Oh, and did I mention that this bag is light? This is HUGE! I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on various high-end diaper bags and gym bags, and the one thing they tend to have in common is that the more pockets they have, and the more waterproof and “indestructible” they are, the heavier they tend to be, even when empty.

Well, the Placid B Holdall manages to maintain it’s durability and hold it’s shape regardless of its contents, and weigh next to nothing. Fully stuffed, you’ll feel like you’re carrying only the weight of whatever it is you’ve packed. This bag is great for travelling (i.e., being tossed around in various compartments) and it looks absolutely glam too!

At $99, this one’s a steal. Grab yours online at Bench.ca!

I hope you’re enjoying these Bench reviews! These last few months of partnering with Bench have kind of ruined me for clothes…

I now know why people spend the extra bucks on high quality clothing and accessories – because it makes all the difference in how you feel, how you perform, and of course, how you look!

It’s true: when you buy cheap, you buy twice. I just want to say publicly thank Bench for having me as their brand ambassador 🙂

I post a lot more pics and mini reviews on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook, so be sure to follow me @timmiewellness!

Stay Sassy,
