These products aren’t simply my “Top 3 Favourite Vegan Products,” they are my “Top 3 ULTIMATE Essentials”, that just so happen to also be vegan.
As a makeup artist, when using my products, I need beautiful and dependable results every single time. Are terms like vegan, cruelty-free, talc free, paraben free, important to me? Absolutely. But have I purchased that pro-artist palette that probably has crushed baby seals in them? Guilty. But for the everyday woman, wherever your conscience lies on the spectrum there are so many beautiful options.
These are products I use every single day, and for the most part, on every single one of my clients. And not only does vegan feel good to use in the ethical sense, I also feel safe using these products on even my most sensitive clients.
1. It’s A Long Story Mascara by Arbonne
With how complex and sensitive the eye is it is very important to keep the formula as friendly as possible. Arbonne preaches their product lines to be vegan and all ingredients to be botanically based. And the results you get from wearing this mascara is just wonderful. The formula fans, lengthens and volumizes without any clumps or flaking. The product retails for $40 CAD. Expensive – yes but I can’t put a price on how safe I feel putting this on my clients’ eyes.
2. All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Spray by Urban Decay
Makeup setting spray is an essential for any makeup kit. It may be your party and you can cry if you want to, but spray this on beforehand, and your makeup will stay on! This is great for summer when it is hot and humid as well as for those with dry skin to use as an alternative to setting powder.
This product retails for $36 CAD for 4 oz and is extremely reasonable in my books.
3. Real Techniques Brushes
I love these brushes for the everyday woman because they select and combine their brushes into sets that are just so friendly and convenient. They don’t give you the typical eyeshadow, angle, and mascara spooly.
It’s the first drug store brand that I’ve seen that’s really introduced the precision and fluffy eyeshadow blending brushes into their eye set. Now anyone can create a professionally blended smokey eye!
Their line is made up of synthetic brush hairs which is what makes them vegan and crulty-free. Synthetic is wonderful as you can use these brushes with both liquid and powder formulas. The brush sets range from $9.99 – $19.99 CAD and the prices are amazing for the quality of brushes. I buy these like candy.
Hope you enjoy these products as much as I do! If you have any questions, let me know. You can get in touch with me on my website, LeslieCole.ca.
